Julien Wist

Julien Wist is born in Switzerland, near Lausanne, where he obtained his chemistry degree in 1999 working on femto-second time-resolved experiments. After an internship at Universidad del Valle (Cali, Colombia) dedicated to solar disinfection processes he returned to the Ecole Polytéchnique Fédérale de Lausanne to join the research group of Prof. Geoffrey Bodenhausen. His work focused on evidencing slow motions in proteins by measuring cross-correlation relaxation rates. After 4 years and a Ph.D at Lausanne, he obtained a position at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá, Colombia) as a director of the NMR lab. Finally he moved to Universidad del Valle as an assistant professor. During those years in Colombia he funded the first NMR group (www.nmrlab.org) and organized the 1st and 2nd editions of the NMR school with the kind participation Prof. Christian Griesinger and Prof. Richard Ernst among others. His research focuses on cheminformatics and on the development of algorithms for mixture analysis, structure elucidation, and simulation of NMR spectra.
