Luiz Colnago graduated in pharmacy by Faculdade de Farmácia e Bioquímica do Espirito Santo (1976), has a Master in Chemistry by Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1979) and a PhD in Chemistry by Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1983).
Actually is researcher - Embrapa Instrumentação Agropecuária. Has experience in the field of biophysics and biochemistry, with focus on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Fourier Transform Infrared region (FTIR) spectroscopic techniques, specially devoted to: food, biodiesel, agriculture microbiology, and agricultural products in general
