The Organizing Committee invites you to attend the 2nd National Meeting on Medicinal Chemistry to be held in Coimbra on November 28 - 30, 2010. It is organized by the Medicinal Chemistry Group on behalf of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) and sponsored by the European Federation of Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC).
The main aim of this biannual conference is to provide a platform to discuss recent advances in drug discovery and development, with special emphasis to the interfaces between Chemistry, Biology, Computational Biochemistry and Experimental Medicine.
Areas to be covered will include:
- Cancer drug discovery by selective gene targeting
- New targets for drug discovery in CNS
- Recent developments for the treatment of malaria
- Chemical probes for biology studies
- Modern synthetic methods and new processes in drug discovery
- Computational modeling and rational drug design
- QSAR in drug development
Contributions from other areas of Medicinal Chemistry, including interdisciplinary topics, are welcome.
The 2nd National meeting on Medicinal Chemistry is an excellent opportunity to foster cross-fertilization among researchers from different areas in the interface with Medicinal Chemistry.
Young researchers are particularly encouraged to participate and to communicate their work.
The official language of the meeting will be English.
